Beginning Travel Plans

We’re traveling to Europe in September to celebrate our 40th birthdays.   Italy, France, Spain, UK.    Right now everything is tentative and I’m in full-blown learning mode.   It’s daunting planning for a big trip!

I retooled this site recently in part to have a nice place to travel blog.   I’m looking forward to posting regular blog updates from the road, because its such a great way to revisit the trip for years to come, and to share our adventures with friends and family without retelling the same stories or sending links to hundreds of photos.

In the meantime, I thought I’d use this as a repository for any interesting elements of the trip that are planned or of interest.

  1. Yay! So excited for your trip. My husband and I have been traveling for 8 months internationally and keeping a blog of our trip. You can check it out at http://www.jasonhethir.com if you like! It is so great to help remember all the little special things that happen. Looking forward to following your adventures 😉

  2. Hi Hethir – glad you said hi from the other side of the world! Loved your blog, can’t wait to get out on the road myself. To do a year, we’d have to have a tiny little Ojai footprint, so three weeks this time around.

  3. Hey Ty! If you’re in England, I’d highly recommend York if you can fit it in. I loved every minute of my visit there. It is beautiful with lots of charm.
    Take care,
    Dee

  4. Thanks, Dee. York looks great but I don’t think we’ll get very far out of London on this trip. I think the British Isles is its own trip one of these days. On the other hand, we’re staying in Paris a bit longer than we had planned, so looking forward to that.
